- 1 small head Cabbage, cut into thick slices
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, for brushing
- 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
- 1 cup Cheese, for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the cabbage into thick slices and brush each slice with olive oil on both sides.
- In a large bowl, combine your ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the optional egg. Mix until well-blended.
- Place the cabbage slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Form the meat mixture into patties and place a patty on each cabbage slice.
- Sprinkle cheese generously on top of each patty.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
- Remove from the oven and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure cabbage slices don’t overlap on the baking sheet to avoid sogginess. Experiment with spices and cheese types to customize your burgers.
