Description

A comforting breakfast casserole made with layers of breakfast sausage, potatoes, cheese, and eggs, cooked in a slow cooker for a delicious morning meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 roll breakfast sausage
  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen shredded potatoes
  • 1 (32 oz) package shredded colby jack cheese
  • 812 beaten eggs
  • 24 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  2. Layer half of the frozen shredded potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Cover the potatoes with half of the shredded colby jack cheese.
  4. Add half of the browned sausage atop the cheese and potatoes.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, sausage, and cheese.
  6. Season the layers with garlic salt to taste.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together until fully combined. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the slow cooker.
  8. Cook on low for 480 minutes (8 hours), allowing all the flavors to meld and create a deliciously creamy casserole.

Notes

For easy cleanup, use a slow cooker liner. Adjust milk based on preference for consistency.
