Description
A simple yet sophisticated pan-seared steak recipe that combines marination and high-heat cooking for tender and flavorful sirloin steaks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sirloin steaks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Marinade ingredients of choice (e.g., soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard)
Instructions
- Marinate the sirloin steaks for 45 minutes in a mixture of your choice (soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, herbs, and vinegar).
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove steaks from the marinade, season with salt and pepper, and sear in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for an additional 6-10 minutes, or until desired doneness.
- Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pat the steaks dry before marinating for a better sear. Use tongs to flip the steak and consider adding fresh herbs while cooking for extra flavor.
