A budget-friendly twist on the classic burnt ends using chuck roast, complemented by a smoky BBQ sauce.

- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Wood pellets for smoking (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
- Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the roast in the smoker and cook for 4-5 hours until it reaches 160°F internal temperature.
- Remove the roast from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Cut the roast into cubes and toss with BBQ sauce and brown sugar.
- Return the cubes to the smoker and cook for an additional 1-2 hours until caramelized and tender.
- Serve as an appetizer or main dish.
Notes
For added flavor, experiment with different wood types for smoking. Ensure patience during the cooking process for the best results.
