Description

A budget-friendly twist on the classic burnt ends using chuck roast, complemented by a smoky BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs chuck roast
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Wood pellets for smoking (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  2. Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Place the roast in the smoker and cook for 4-5 hours until it reaches 160°F internal temperature.
  4. Remove the roast from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut the roast into cubes and toss with BBQ sauce and brown sugar.
  6. Return the cubes to the smoker and cook for an additional 1-2 hours until caramelized and tender.
  7. Serve as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes
