A tender and flavorful beef brisket slow-cooked to perfection, ideal for gatherings and comfort food.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 pound beef brisket
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the sliced onion in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Trim any excessive fat from the brisket and lay it on top of the onions.
- In a small bowl, combine the beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 8 to 10 hours.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes; slice against the grain before serving.
- Serve with the reserved cooking liquid for added flavor.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, consider searing the brisket before slow cooking and experimenting with different barbecue sauces.
