Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, then drain excess fat.
  2. Place the ground beef, onion, garlic, and bell pepper into the slow cooker.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and beef broth.
  4. Stir to combine ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or high for 240 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, and enjoy your homemade chili!

Notes

Adjust chili powder to taste for heat and let chili rest overnight for deeper flavors.
