Description

A delightful twist on classic banana bread with the warm flavors of cinnamon and sugar, perfect for cozy mornings or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Stir gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. For the cinnamon-sugar topping, mix the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon, then sprinkle it evenly over the top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread rest in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for optimal sweetness and moisture. Be careful not to overmix the batter to ensure a light texture.
