Description

Comforting baked pasta shells filled with creamy ricotta cheese and vibrant spinach, perfect for sharing and savoring.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, spinach, mozzarella, parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Stuff each shell with the ricotta and spinach mixture and place it in the dish.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve.

Notes

For optimal texture, avoid overcooking the pasta shells. The stuffed shells freeze well; assemble but skip baking, then thaw and bake as directed when ready.
