Description
A vibrant stir fry that perfectly combines steak and shrimp with fresh vegetables for a delightful culinary experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Start by marinating the sliced flank steak and shrimp with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let them soak up the flavors for about 30 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat, then add the marinated flank steak. Cook until browned, about 2–3 minutes, and then remove it from the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and toss in the shrimp. Cook until they turn pink, roughly 2–3 minutes.
- Now, stir fry the vegetables. Add garlic, ginger, bell pepper, broccoli, and carrots to the skillet. Cook them until they become tender-crisp.
- Finally, add back the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet. Stir everything together, seasoning with salt and pepper as desired. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For variation, use marinated tofu for a vegetarian version or swap the vegetables based on seasonal availability.
