- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 5 tbsp soy sauce (2 tbsp for marinating, 3 tbsp for the sauce)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for marinating)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 8 oz (225g) egg noodles or rice noodles
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: Combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Mix well and marinate for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
- Cook the Noodles: Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, stir-fry the bell pepper and broccoli for 3-4 minutes until tender yet crisp. Return the beef to the pan and add the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Combine and Serve: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Tip: For extra flavor, marinate beef for up to 2 hours. Feel free to swap vegetables based on personal preference.
