Description
A delightful and moist chocolate chip banana bread made with ripe bananas and semi-sweet chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 & 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 & 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 medium bananas)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
- Add the mashed bananas to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
- Carefully fold in the dry ingredient mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, performing a skewer test in the center. Cover loosely with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Allow to cool in the pan slightly, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider mixing in chopped nuts or spices like cinnamon. Letting the bread sit overnight enhances its taste.
