Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
- Once browned, pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for 5 more minutes until the sauce has thickened. Serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated nutmeg for more intense flavor. Pair with lingonberry preserves for a sweet contrast.
