Description

Indulge in these ultra thick bakery style chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, loaded with a delightful mix of dark and semisweet chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well; then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Chill the dough for at least an hour.
  8. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and shape into balls, placing them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  9. Press a few chocolate chips on top of each ball.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown; allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
