Indulge in these ultra thick bakery style chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, loaded with a delightful mix of dark and semisweet chocolate.

- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well; then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet, folding gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough for at least an hour.
- Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and shape into balls, placing them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Press a few chocolate chips on top of each ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown; allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of espresso powder or sea salt on top before baking.
