Ingredients

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) ground turmeric
  • 1 1/2 tsp (8 ml) ground coriander
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
  • 3 tsp (15 ml) paprika
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) minced garlic
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) minced ginger
  • 250 g (8.8 oz) Greek yogurt
  • Juice of 1 medium-sized lemon
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) dried fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • 750 g (1.7 lbs) diced beef

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients, except for the beef, in a large bowl until you achieve a uniform mixture.
  2. Add the chunks of beef to the bowl and ensure they are completely covered with the mixture. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for no less than 2 hours, though leaving it overnight is preferable.
  3. Place the marinated beef onto skewers and set them aside.
  4. Preheat a grill pan or barbecue to medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for 15 minutes, turning them frequently. Once they’re done, let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.

  • Marinate the venison overnight in the spice mixture for a more intense flavor infusion.
