Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, sour cream, milk, flour, baking powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
- Pour the smooth mixture into a microwave-safe cake pan that has been greased. Heat in the microwave for 5 to 8 minutes, starting with 5 minutes and extending the time if necessary until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool down fully before applying the frosting.
- Using an electric mixer, whip together the room temperature butter, 1-1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk, and a splash of vanilla until the mixture is creamy.
- Adjust the frosting by adding additional powdered sugar and milk to achieve your preferred flavor and texture.
