- 1 whole chicken (3–4 pounds)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Mix together garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Rub the chicken all over with olive oil and then with the spice mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down.
- Cook for 30 minutes.
- Carefully flip the chicken so it is breast side up, and cook for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the spice mixture a few hours before cooking. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through.
