  • Cream cheese, 8 ounce (227 g) s (225 grams)
  • Sugar, 1/4 cup (60 ml) (50 grams)
  • Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 milliliters)
  • Egg, 1 large
  • Salt, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
  • Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) (1.25 grams)
  • Breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup (60 ml) (25 grams)
  • Oil for cooking, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters)
  • Burger buns, 4
  • Lettuce leaves, 4
  • Tomato, 1 large, sliced
  • Cheddar cheese slices, 4

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the egg to the cream cheese mixture and mix until well combined.
  3. In a saucepan, cook blackberries over medium heat until they break down, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs until evenly combined.
  5. Form the beef mixture into four equal patties.
  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook the patties in the skillet for 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
  8. In the last minute of cooking, place a cheddar cheese slice on each patty to melt.
  9. Toast the burger buns in a separate pan or toaster.
  10. Assemble the burgers: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun.
  11. Add a tomato slice on top of the lettuce.
  12. Place the cheese-topped beef patty on top of the tomato.
  13. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the top of the patty.
  14. Spoon the cooked blackberries over the cream cheese layer.
  15. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Evenly distribute breadcrumbs in the ground beef mixture for better patty binding.
  • Cook blackberries before adding for enhanced flavor and sweetness.
  • Melt cheddar cheese on beef patties at the end for a delicious cheesy topping.
