Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and 1/4 cup ketchup to create the glaze. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, then brush the remaining glaze on top and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Chill the mixture for 30 minutes before shaping for better consistency. Consider adding finely diced vegetables for added flavor.
