  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (1 gram)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice (15 milliliters)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional )

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine blackberries, chipotle peppers, honey, soy sauce, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the blackberry chipotle sauce into a saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the sauce from heat and set aside.
  5. Season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and ground cumin.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Add the steak bites to the skillet in a single layer.
  9. Cook the steak bites for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
  10. Pour the blackberry chipotle sauce over the steak bites in the skillet.
  11. Stir to coat the steak bites evenly with the sauce.
  12. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to glaze the steak bites.
  13. Remove from heat and transfer the steak bites to a serving dish.
  14. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, if desired.
  15. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more honey to the blackberry chipotle mixture.
  • Let the steak rest briefly before serving to ensure tenderness and even distribution of juices.
  • Enhance the spiciness by increasing the amount of chipotle peppers in the adobo sauce.
