Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or butter.
- Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in a skillet until fully cooked, draining any excess fat.
- Stir in minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and optional paprika for added flavor.
- Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Spread half of the beef mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the sauce over the beef layer and sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and sauce. Finish by topping with the rest of the cheddar cheese and optional mozzarella.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15–20 minutes until the potatoes are tender, and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
