Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
- Melt the butter and in a larger bowl, mix it with milk, eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
- Evenly divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the muffins in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon for coating; while muffins are warm, dip the tops into the mixture and press gently.
- Return the muffins to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes for a crispy topping.
Notes
For a more flavorful muffin, consider adding chocolate chips or blueberries to the batter.
