Description

A delightful mixture of sweet and salty, Classic Christmas Toffee is a cherished holiday treat that brings back warm memories of family and festivities.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional, almonds or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Combine butter, sugar, and water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir constantly until the mixture boils.
  3. Continue to boil, stirring frequently, until the candy thermometer reads 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and pour the toffee mixture into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Once the toffee cools slightly, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly on top.
  6. Allow the chocolate to melt for a minute, then spread it evenly across the toffee surface.
  7. If desired, top with chopped nuts before letting it cool completely at room temperature.
  8. Once completely cooled, break the toffee into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, use high-quality butter and chocolate. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking for clean edges.
