- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 can diced tomatoes with green chiles (14.5 oz)
- 1 can black beans (15 oz), drained and rinsed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the diced bell peppers and onions to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes with green chiles, black beans, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir well until everything is combined and melted.
- Serve hot with tortilla chips for dipping.
Notes
Customize the heat with jalapeños or hot sauce. For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with quinoa or additional beans.
