- 1 pound (454 g) (450 grams) ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.75 ounces (305 g)) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup (240 ml) (240 grams) sour cream
- 1 can (15 ounces (425 g)) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (4 ounces (113 g)) diced green chilies
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups (480 ml) (230 grams) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters) tomato salsa
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the taco seasoning mix and a little water; cook according to package instructions.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and sour cream.
- Add salt and pepper to taste, then mix well.
- Spread a thin layer of the soup mixture on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place a flour tortilla on top of the soup mixture.
- Layer some of the cooked beef mixture, black beans, and green chilies over the tortilla.
- Sprinkle a layer of cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- Repeat layering with remaining tortillas, beef mixture, and cheese.
- Top the final layer with remaining soup mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
- Pour salsa evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
