  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces (305 g)) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup (240 ml) (240 grams) sour cream
  • 1 can (15 ounces (425 g)) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (4 ounces (113 g)) diced green chilies
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups (480 ml) (230 grams) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters) tomato salsa
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Stir in the taco seasoning mix and a little water; cook according to package instructions.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and sour cream.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste, then mix well.
  7. Spread a thin layer of the soup mixture on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Place a flour tortilla on top of the soup mixture.
  9. Layer some of the cooked beef mixture, black beans, and green chilies over the tortilla.
  10. Sprinkle a layer of cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  11. Repeat layering with remaining tortillas, beef mixture, and cheese.
  12. Top the final layer with remaining soup mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
  13. Pour salsa evenly over the top of the casserole.
  14. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  15. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  16. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly.
  17. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
