- 1 cup Sugar (coconut sugar as an alternative)
- 2 tablespoons Cinnamon (consider adding nutmeg or cardamom)
- 2 cups Vegetable Oil (canola or coconut oil can also work)
- 1 cup Chocolate Sauce (explore different sauce options)
Instructions
- Prepare the angel cake mix according to the package instructions, adding in one cup of sugar and two tablespoons of cinnamon.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Carefully drop small dollops of the batter into the hot oil, frying each churro bite until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove the churro bites from the oil with a slotted spoon and lay them onto a plate lined with paper towels.
- Dust each churro bite with cinnamon sugar immediately after removing from the oil. Drizzle with chocolate sauce or serve on the side for dipping.
Notes
For uniform sizing, use a melon baller or cookie scoop. Experiment with different flavors of chocolate sauce for variety.
