Ingredients
- Turkey bacon, 12 slices

- All-purpose flour, 1 cup (240 ml) (125 grams)
- Eggs, 2 large
- Breadcrumbs, 1 cup (240 ml) (100 grams)
- Salt, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
- Black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
- Garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
- Onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Maple syrup, 1/2 cup (120 ml) (120 milliliters)
- Brown sugar, 1/4 cup (60 ml) (50 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into 12 equal sticks.
- Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
- Fill each jalapeño half with a small amount of cream cheese.
- Place a mozzarella stick on top of the cream cheese in each jalapeño half.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a slice of turkey bacon.
- Secure the bacon with a toothpick, if necessary.
- In a bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
- Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge each bacon-wrapped jalapeño in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Dip the floured jalapeño into the beaten eggs.
- Roll the egg-coated jalapeño in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the poppers until the bacon is crispy and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove poppers from oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup and brown sugar.
- Heat over medium-low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Simmer the glaze for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Drizzle the sweet maple glaze over the poppers.
- Serve immediately while warm.
