  • 24 small shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 2 medium avocados
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 lime (juice)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup red cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 cup green cabbage (shredded)
  • ½ medium red onion (sliced)
  • 1 lime (juice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, granulated garlic, and paprika in a bowl.
  3. Dredge each shrimp in the mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the shrimp to the pan once the oil is hot and fry each side for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  6. Remove the shrimp and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Mash the avocados in a bowl and mix with lime juice, sour cream, and additional salt for the sauce.
  8. Combine shredded red cabbage, green cabbage, sliced red onion, olive oil, and lime juice in a separate bowl for the slaw.
  9. Warm the flour tortillas in a pan or microwave.
  10. Assemble the tacos by placing crispy shrimp on tortillas and topping with avocado lime sauce and slaw.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider adding fried tortilla strips. Serve immediately for best texture.
