Description

A comforting and nutritious blend of ground beef and broccoli, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the onion softens.
  4. Add the broccoli florets, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), brown sugar, and beef broth.
  5. If using cornstarch, mix it with a little water to create a slurry and stir it in.
  6. Let everything simmer for 5-7 minutes until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Stir in sesame oil and grated ginger (if using).
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving.
  9. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa. Enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas to customize the dish.
