Description

A nostalgic and flavorful homemade doner kebab recipe that brings the essence of street food to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless meat (lamb, chicken, or beef)
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or flatbread for serving
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for garnish
  • Yogurt sauce or tahini for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine grated onion, minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the meat to the bowl, mixing until well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Place the marinated meat on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through until cooked through and crispy on the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
  7. Serve the sliced doner kebab in pita bread or flatbread, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a drizzle of yogurt sauce or tahini.

Notes

Allow the meat to marinate longer for enhanced flavor. Adjust seasoning to suit your taste.
