Rotisserie Chicken Gravy

Description

A warm and flavorful gravy made from rotisserie chicken drippings, perfect for enhancing your meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken
  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 tsp of chicken bouillon
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 3 tbsp of flour
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1 rib of celery
  • 1 baby carrot
  • Herbs of choice (rosemary and thyme recommended)

Instructions

  1. Scrape the drippings from the rotisserie chicken into a small pot.
  2. Remove the meat from the chicken bones and set the bones aside.
  3. Add 3 cups of water to the pot with the drippings and the reserved bones.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Consider adding a wedge of onion, celery, and carrot along with herbs for additional depth.
  6. Remove the bones and strain the stock for a smooth consistency.
  7. Combine butter and flour in a bowl, microwave for about 30 seconds, then stir into the stock.
  8. Add 3 tsp of chicken bouillon and bring to a boil while stirring.
  9. Remove from heat, shred the reserved chicken meat, and fold it into the gravy.
  10. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, biscuits, or egg noodles.

Notes

Adjust water for desired thickness; taste and adjust salt as needed.
