  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) (1 gram) onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) (1 gram) black pepper
  • 1/2 pound (227 g) (226 grams) beef, ground
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters) olive oil
  • 1 cup (240 ml) (100 grams) breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2 grams) smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) (1 gram) cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) (50 grams) beef bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (8 grams) fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the ground venison to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  6. Remove the venison from heat and let it cool slightly.
  7. Stir the cooked venison into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  8. Spoon the cream cheese and venison mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously.
  9. In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, and optional cayenne pepper.
  10. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the stuffed jalapeños.
  11. Place the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the jalapeños are tender.
  13. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with cooked and crumbled turkey bacon.
  14. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
  15. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a lighter dish, you can use turkey bacon in place of beef bacon.
  • Add cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture for a spicier kick.
  • Generously fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese and venison mixture for a flavorful bite.
