  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) smoked paprika (2 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (1 gram)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt (3 grams)
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing (60 ml)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 8 slices of bread (such as sourdough or whole wheat)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil, softened (28 grams)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped green onions (25 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and cover them with plastic wrap.
  3. Pound the chicken to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  6. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with the spice mixture.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  8. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  9. In the same skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
  10. Slice the cooked chicken into strips.
  11. Spread ranch dressing on one side of each slice of bread.
  12. Layer a slice of cheddar cheese on the non-ranch side of four bread slices.
  13. Add chicken strips and crispy turkey bacon on top of the cheese.
  14. Sprinkle chopped green onions over the chicken and bacon.
  15. Top with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
  16. Close the sandwiches with the remaining bread slices, ranch side down.
  17. Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  18. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat.
  19. Grill each sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
