Description

Delicious puff pastry bites filled with a savory mixture of cremini mushrooms, garlic, and sharp white cheddar cheese, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 17.3 oz (2 sheets) puff pastry
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 16 oz cremini mushrooms, diced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 12 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Thaw the puff pastry sheets and lay them flat on a large cutting board. Roll them out slightly and cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a muffin pan thoroughly.
  3. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the diced cremini mushrooms to the pan, season with salt, and cook until tender, about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the mushroom mixture to a bowl, let cool slightly, and then stir in the grated cheddar cheese.
  6. Place each puff pastry square into the muffin cups, spooning 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mushroom mixture into each.
  7. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden-brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Serve with a dip like garlic aioli for added flavor.
