- 1 (15.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix
- 4 eggs
- 0.5 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, butter, and vanilla, and mix well.
- Add the cake batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, combine confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, and the remaining 2 eggs. Mix until smooth and pour over the cake batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting.
Notes
Using room-temperature ingredients helps for better mixing. Experiment with flavors by adding almond extract or different mix-ins.
