Lay a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the purée and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours until it is thoroughly chilled.
  2. Following the instructions provided by the ice cream maker’s manufacturer, churn the mixture. Once churned, transfer it to a container and freeze for an additional 2 to 3 hours, or until it reaches a firm consistency.
