- 1 loaf of French bread
- 1/2 yellow onion (diced)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (15 ounce) can sloppy joe sauce
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F.
- Cut the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a lined baking sheet.
- Cook the diced onions with a little butter or oil in a large sauté pan for 3-4 minutes or until soft.
- Add the ground beef to the onions, crumbling it until it is no longer pink.
- Drain any excess grease using a paper towel.
- Stir in the sloppy joe sauce, mixing well to incorporate all flavors.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the bread halves.
- Top the filled bread with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese melts, and the edges of the bread become toasty.
