Description

A hearty casserole combining egg noodles, ground beef, and tangy sour cream for a comforting family meal.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, combine sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper.
  5. In a large baking dish, layer half of the noodles, half of the beef mixture, and half of the sauce mixture. Repeat the layers. Top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

You can prepare the casserole in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Add frozen veggies for extra nutrition.
